Anna works as a Specialist Clinical Physiologist in the Upper and Lower GI Physiology Centre at St George's Hospital, London, under the direction of Dr Jamal Hayat, Consultant Gastroenterologist.
In 2006, Anna completed a three-year graduate nursing training in Poland and was awarded a Bachelor of Nursing degree, which is recognized by The Nursing and Midwife Council (NMC) in the United Kingdom. Additionally, in 2020, she completed the ASP - Intro and Upper GI Physiology courses, which included both academic and practical components with special focus and concentration on Upper GI physiology.
She is proficient in High Resolution Oesophageal Manometry, 24-hour pH-impedance reflux monitoring, 24-96-hour Bravo/AlphaOne pH wireless monitoring and hydrogen and methane breath testing (SIBO, Lactose and Fructose malabsorption) and well as Urea breath test (H.Pylori). She obtained BSG membership (ID: BSG63688) and is qualified to work as an Independent Accredited Healthcare Professional (AGIP/BSG) since 2021.
Based on professional standards, departmental regulations, and best-practice guidelines and policies, Anna provides top-notch clinical testing performance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting on clinical findings. She is very knowledgeable about pharmacology as well as physiological theory and practice. She has outstanding communication skills and can empathise and relate to a range of people.
Her interests cover atypical oesophageal motility such as pre-achalasia, pre-Jackhammer diagnosis and possible relationship between ineffective oesophageal motility and small intestinal motility.
